Street people were provided with a 5-course meal, hosted by the Grand Priory of Rome of the Order of Malta and its volunteer group, working in three shifts, and with a gift of food and basic necessities and a sleeping bag presented to each visitor by the Grand Prior, Fra’ Giacomo Dalla Torre.

This year the event was held in the Church of San Rocco in Rome, courtesy of the rector, Mons. Filippo Tucci – with any leftovers given to at least another 50 people who came later to the church doors.

Chief organiser, Dr Andrea Amico, also notes that there will be a similar lunch at Easter. And the same Order volunteer group offers support to the homeless every Thursday evening throughout the year at Tiburtina train station in Rome.
