The Sovereign Council of the Sovereign Order of Malta has approved the creation of the International Hospitaller Committee of the Order of Malta, a public law entity of the Order, with seat in Geneva.

Its purpose is to further the international activities and the corporate identity of the Order’s institutions acting and conducting operations internationally according to the Mission of the Order of Malta. To this aim the International Hospitaller Committee of the Order of Malta shall, under the control and authority of the Sovereign Council, define the policy and strategy of international Hospitaller activities, coordinate them and lay down common standards, when necessary.

The emblem of the International Hospitaller Committee of the Order of Malta is the eight-pointed white cross on a red shield. Its Chairman is the Grand Hospitaller of the Order, Albrecht Freiherr von Boeselager.
