Water supply preparations in case of war

Water supply preparations in case of war

The Order of Malta’s emergency corps has set up two water purification systems, together with an Emergency Health Kit, in Silopi, Turkey, which is located 30 km from the Iraq border. The lack of clean drinking water and medical supplies has already become a major problem in Northern Iraq and it is likely to increase dramatically in the case of a war.

Each of the water purification systems can produce 80,000 litres daily. The Emergency Health Kit includes 1.5 tonnes of medicines, enough to care for 30,000 people for one month.
