Co-operation agreement between the inter-american court of human rights and the Order of Malta
23/05/2001

The Sovereign Military Order of Malta has ratified today the Co-operation and Institutional Support Agreement signed between the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta on 18 August 2000 by H.E. Antonio A. Cancado Trindade, President of the Court, and H.E. Countess Giuliana Fanelli, Ambassador of the Order in Costa Rica.

The agreement provides for the collaboration and exchange of information between the parties, and the Order of Malta’s commitment to provide the Documentation Centre of the Inter-American Court with information on its activities.

The Inter-American Court shall make available to the Order any juridical document that may add to the wealth of studies, analyses and projects implemented in favour of human rights. Both parties have also agreed to maintain streamlined communications through the organisation of workshops, meetings and presentations on common-interest topics.
