The Grand Chancellor of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta Riccardo Paternò di Montecupo received on 18 September at the Magistral Palace Andrii Yurash Ambassador of Ukraine to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.

The two parties reviewed the state of the bilateral relations with particular regard to the extensive programme of humanitarian assistance being carried by the Order of Malta both in Ukraine and in other countries in favor of Ukrainian refugees and the local population.

This represents the most extensive humanitarian operation undertaken by the Order of Malta since World War II.

The Grand Chancellor reaffirmed the commitment of the Order of Malta to continue to provide humanitarian relief to all those in need.

For his part, Ambassador Yurash confirmed the deepest appreciation of the Ukrainian Government and people for receiving fundamental humanitarian assistance from the Order of Malta since the start of the war in February 2022. Ambassador Yurash expressed a special note of gratitude towards the relief operators of the Order of Malta in Ukraine who work with great commitment and dedication under very difficult circumstances.
