The centrality of the United Nations in the international system, the need to reaffirm the fundamental values and principles of human coexistence, the norms of international law. These were the crucial issues discussed during the meeting that the Order of Malta’s Grand Chancellor, Riccardo Paternò di Montecupo, had this morning in New York with the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Amina Mohammed.

Among other things, the Grand Chancellor illustrated the broad lines of the Order of Malta’s international presence, both at a diplomatic level and in terms of humanitarian activities and social impact on the ground.

Amina Mohammed expressed great appreciation for the role played by the Order of Malta internationally, in terms of advocacy and humanitarian interventions.
The Grand Chancellor and Deputy Secretary-General also discussed the impact of AI and new technologies on the economy and on society.
