The Grand Master of the Order of Malta, Fra’ Andrew Bertie, inaugurated the new neurosurgical department of the Istituto Giannina Gaslini Children’s Hospital of Genoa, set up with the Order’s contribution.

After the inauguration ceremony and benediction by the Gaslini parish priest, Rev. Fra’ Aldo Campone, the Grand Master visited some young patients, offering words of consolation and winning a smile with the gift of a red beret with the cross of Malta.

The Order’s delegation was received by the Chairman of the Institute, Dr. Ugo Serra and by the Director General, Dr. Antonio Infante, with all the management staff.

The Grand Master was accompanied by the Receiver of the Common Treasure, Marchese Gian Luca Chiavari, and by the Grand Prior of Lombardy and Venice, Fra’ Roggero Caccia Dominioni.
