The Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, Fra’ John T. Dunlap, has sent a letter to Pope Leo XIV to express his sympathy and that of the entire Order, after learning of the surgery the Holy Father is due to undergo in the coming days.

The Grand Master wrote to the Holy Father, “I wish to assure you in particular of my prayers, that the Lord may be with you and grant you a speedy and complete recovery”. Fra’ John emphasised that his prayers are joined to those of the entire Order of Malta family, “who stand by you with filial affection and deep gratitude for your tireless service to the Church”.

In concluding his message, the Grand Master entrusted the Holy Father to the protection of Our Lady of Lourdes, who holds a special place in the heart of the Order of Malta.
