The conflict in Ukraine, the serious humanitarian situation and the Order of Malta’s interventions on the ground were the focus of the meeting between the Grand Chancellor, Riccardo Paternò di Montecupo, and the Foreign Minister of Latvia, Baiba Braže.

The Grand Chancellor and the Minister also agreed that bilateral relations should be strengthened by concluding a cooperation agreement and by social impact initiatives in Latvia carried out by the Order of Malta.

It was also hoped to arrange an exchange of visits.

The Order of Malta has intensified its relations with the Baltic States in recent years, also establishing a regional delegation that brings together members of the Order in the three countries.
