The Sovereign Order of Malta is one of the oldest institutions of Western and Christian civilisation.
According to the Constitution, as the religious Superior and Sovereign, he must fully dedicate himself to the development of the works of the Order and to set an example of living by Christian principles, to all the members of the Order of Malta.
The Order of Malta is permanently present with medical, social and humanitarian projects in most countries in the world.
The Sovereign Order of Malta’s diplomatic relations facilitate its medical and humanitarian activities.
The birth of the Order of St. John dates back to around the second half of the 11th century. It was under the leadership of Blessed Fra’ Gerard, founder and first Master, that the religious community became a lay religious order.
The Grand Master Fra’ John Dunlap received in audience in the Magistral Palace for the presentation of their Letters of Credence, the new Ambassadors of:

On the occasion of the official visit of the Grand Master of the Order of Malta Fra’ John Dunlap to the President of the Republic of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, both sides reaffirm the excellent state of their bilateral cooperation and express their shared intention to continue strengthening it in the future.
The State Visit of the Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta, Fra’ John T. Dunlap, took place on 7 and 8 June, during which he met with Gitanas Nausėda, President of the Republic of Lithuania.
A packed programme of meetings with senior state officials will mark Grand Master Fra’ John T. Dunlap’s official visit to the Baltic States. The visit will begin in Lithuania on 7 June, continue in Latvia on 9 June and conclude in Estonia on 11 June.
