The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić, was received this morning at the Magistral Palace by the Grand Chancellor of the Sovereign Order of Malta, Riccardo Paternò di Montecupo.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Prime Minister for International Affairs and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ervin Ibrahimović.

During the talks, the excellent state of bilateral relations was reaffirmed, along with the Order’s commitment—through its Embassy in Podgorica—to exploring possible areas of cooperation, particularly in the field of public health. Concern was also expressed over humanitarian crises and human rights violations, especially in relation to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The Prime Minister and the Grand Chancellor emphasized the importance of a joint commitment to the promotion of diplomacy, dialogue, and a multilateral approach to global challenges.

The meeting also served to speed up preparations for the official visit of the Grand Master of the Order of Malta, Fra’ John T. Dunlap, at the invitation of the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović.
