The Prince and Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta, Fra’ John Dunlap, has been awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal.
The decoration was proposed by the the Honourable Toni Varone, Member of the Senate of Canada and cosponsored by the Honourable Marco Mendicino Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of Canada, for his “exceptional contributions to Canada” and the “dedicated service within the Order of Malta” that “exemplify the values of leadership and commitment that this honour seeks to recognize”.
“Your leadership reflects a new era of inclusivity and progressive change within the Order”, we read in the motivation for the bestowal of the award. “This medal is a testament to your enduring dedication and the profound influence you have had within both your community and the broader global stage”, wrote Senator Varone.
The Coronation Medal has been awarded to the Grand Master in a special presentation ceremony that took place in the Senate Chamber of Canada, on March 18. The medal was presented by the gentleman ushers of the Black Rod on behalf of His Majesty the King.
