The traditional pilgrimage to the Holy House in Loreto, organized by the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, will take place from 25 to 27 October, with the participation of the Grand Commander Fra’ Emmanuel Rousseau, the Grand Hospitaller Fra’ Alessandro de Franciscis and the Receiver of the Common Treasury Fabrizio Colonna.
This will be an important appointment for the Order’s members, the sick and the pilgrims, with meetings and spiritual reflection. The event, in which 1,200 people will take part, offers a rich programme of religious activities as well as training sessions for various age groups, from children to young adults.
The pilgrimage will begin on 25 October with Mass presided over by the Archbishop of Loreto, Msgr. Fabio Dal Cin. On Saturday, 26 October, the Order of Malta’s Prelate, Msgr. Luis Manuel Cuña Ramos, will preside over Mass. In the afternoon, the Way of the Cross will be held in the Basilica and there will be other moments of prayer and formation with the Grand Hospitaller for young people ranging in age from 14 to 26. The day will end with the Rosary meditated in the Basilica, followed by aCandlelight Vigil led by the Capuchin Friars, creating an atmosphere of communion and empathy.
On Sunday morning, the Order of Malta’s Cardinal Patron Gianfranco Ghirlanda will celebrate Mass, followed by a procession and Eucharistic blessing.
