On the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2025) held in Rome on July 10–11, 2025, the Sovereign Order of Malta delegation held bilateral meetings with a number of key representatives.

During the first day of the conference, Grand Hospitaller Josef D. Blotz met with Miroslav Lajčák, the Slovakian Prime Minister’s Advisor for National Security and former Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Afterwards, he accompanied Grand Chancellor Riccardo Paternò di Montecupo to a bilateral meeting with Oana Țoiu, Romania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. The Grand Hospitaller also held a brief operational discussion with Tim Prange, Head of the Ukraine Division at the German Foreign Ministry.

On the second day, the Grand Hospitaller held a bilateral meeting with Pawel Kowal, President of the Council for Cooperation with Ukraine, a Polish government agency responsible for coordinating collaboration between government entities and the private sector for Ukraine’s reconstruction.
