Paris: Grand Master visits home for the elderly where robots to alleviate anxiety and pain are tested

During his time in Paris last week – where he gave a speech at UNESCO and was received by its director – Grand Master Fra’ Giacomo Dalla Torre visited one of the most avantgarde projects run by Ordre de Malte France. Maison Ferrari is a home for the elderly situated in a large park on the outskirts of the French capital.  It provides a holistic approach with medical treatment as well as psychological assistance and specific activities for the psychophysical wellbeing of residents

Malteser International-supported Hospital hit by airstrikes in Syria

Last week the Kafr Nobl Surgical Hospital, in Idlib Governorate of Syria, was targeted by airstrikes. Fortunately, no casualties were reported among the medical staff and patients. Medical activities of the hospital, which is supported by Malteser International and run by Hand in Hand for Aid and Development, are currently suspended.

How to better fight human trafficking: The Order of Malta organizes conference with international experts to forge new synergies

Over the past two years the Sovereign Order of Malta has scaled up its action in the fight against human trafficking. Yesterday, in Paris, it organized the conference “How to better fight sexual trafficking of women in West Africa and support their rehabilitation”, bringing together dozens of experts, including diplomats, academics, policy makers, representative of European and Nigerian institutions, Catholic organizations, sister’s congregations, and psychosocial counsellors.

New medical mission in Dominican Republic organized by Cuban association brings relief to around 1000 patients

Grand Hospitaller signs a cooperation agreement in Ivory Coast

The Grand Hospitaller, Dominique de La Rochefoucauld-Montbel, visited Ivory Coast for three days to sign a cooperation agreement with west African countries, where the Order of Malta has long been present, and to attend the consecration of a chapel in the Saint Jean-Baptiste hospital run by Ordre de Malte France.

Memorandum of understanding signed with Slovak Ministry of Health to strengthen cooperation

A visit of great significance was made last Friday by the Grand Hospitaller of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Bratislava, where Dominique de La Rochefoucauld-Montbel first signed a memorandum of understanding with Minister of Health of the Slovak Republic, Andrea Kalavská and then inaugurated the Malteser Aid Slovakia new headquarters.
