Holy Family Hospital in Bethlehem, run by the Order of Malta since 1990, is the only medical facility in the West Bank to offer a neonatal intensive care unit where premature babies, even only 23 weeks old, or those with congenital problems, can be treated with cutting-edge therapies.

Grand Master’s Christmas greetings at St. John Baptist Hospital in Rome

For the Christmas festivities, Grand Master Fra’ Giacomo Dalla Torre del Tempio di Sanguinetto, accompanied by Grand Hospitaller Dominique de La Rochefoucauld-Montbel and by Fra’ Roberto Viazzo, member of the Sovereign Council, visited St. John Baptist Hospital, the long-term care facility run by the Order of Malta’s Italian Association in Rome.

For the 14th year running, the Order of Malta in Lithuania is organizing the Maltesers’ Soup campaign, with the aim of raising funds for the distribution of hot meals to the poor and the provision of care and support to people who live alone or have physical disabilities.

Order of Malta Singapore organizes fourth Lourdes Experience with over 11,000 pilgrims

Singapore’s fourth Lourdes Experience of the Order of Malta event held on Saturday, 7 December at the Singapore Indoor Stadium was attended by approximately 11,000 pilgrims. Sick and needy people attended in big numbers, coming from the 32 local Catholic local churches, organisations and homes for the elderly.

120 people have lost their lives in recent weeks due to the severe storms in Kenya. After months of drought, the heavy rains have caused flash flooding, landslides and mudslides in many regions.


Albania Earthquake: Order of Malta on site to assist

While the death toll following the devastating earthquake that struck Albania last Tuesday continues to rise – 49 dead and 750 injured – the Order of Malta’s Albanian relief corps is on site to assist the hundreds of displaced persons (3,480 in all).

Paris: Grand Master visits home for the elderly where robots to alleviate anxiety and pain are tested

During his time in Paris last week – where he gave a speech at UNESCO and was received by its director – Grand Master Fra’ Giacomo Dalla Torre visited one of the most avantgarde projects run by Ordre de Malte France. Maison Ferrari is a home for the elderly situated in a large park on the outskirts of the French capital.  It provides a holistic approach with medical treatment as well as psychological assistance and specific activities for the psychophysical wellbeing of residents


World Day of the Poor 2019: The Order of Malta to follow Pope Francis’ plea

On the occasion of the Third World Day of the Poor, which is celebrated on Sunday 17 November, the Sovereign Order of Malta is once again organising numerous initiatives to bear witness to its daily presence alongside people in need, in 120 countries around the world.
